Philip Lynott Art & Photographic Exhibition

Last Saturday April 4th was the press photo call for the First Ever Philip Lynott of Thin Lizzy Art & Photographic Exhibition to be held at The Riverside Gallery in the Bridgewater Shopping Centre Arklow, Co. Wicklow.

It takes place on Monday April 27th to Friday May 8th 2009. Admission is Free. Up to a dozen or more artists are involved, varying from caricaturists to cartoonists, from the National Press, The Beano, Walt Disney also local artists, Thin Lizzy fanatics etc.

Some of the artist involved are: Mark Baker, Niall O'Loughlin, Tom Mathews, Terry Willers, Smiley Bolger,Peter McMorine UK, Greg Hart UK, St. Pauls Gallery Birmingham,Local artists Rod Coyne, Robert Tyrell, Michael O'Connor, Peter Rees, Patrick Power and Ray Wright Photographer (Dublin).

Impressions of Philip from various artists will be on show for sale and display purposes only, also photographs of Thin Lizzy from early 1970's to 1980's. Artwork for sale will have 50% of proceeds to charity and 50% to artist.

The Gallery is Arklow newest and modern visual display area overlooking the river Avoca and Arklow town. Charities for 2009 are The Sri Lankan Orphanage Appeal, Arklow Drugs Awareness and The Roisin Dubh Trust.

NEW EXHIBITION Oct 19th -31st

An exhibition of over 20 new pieces of work will be taking place in The View Gallery, 80 Francis Street, Dublin 8, from October 21st - 31st, and will coincide with the new gallery's official opening. A map of Francis Street is here.

The official opening night of the exhibition will is Tuesday 21st of October in the Green Gallery's brand new View Gallery. Guest speaker is Martin Cullen TD. Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism. Christy Moore Signed Painting





During the summer, a good friend of mine, and patron of the arts, Graham Merrigan, had the good fortune of meeting his idol Christy Moore. On the day, Christy kindly signed the painting that I did for Graham a while back. Here's some photo's of the painting.
